If like me you’re looking to save a few dollars on your entry to the Georgia Aquarium then you’re in the right place! I created this website after finding there were a number of people paying less than me to get into the aquarium on my trip to the U.S.

There are three different types of discounts available at the Georgia Aquarium. Depending on your circumstances and any other establishments you intend to visit on your trip to Atlanta you can save a significant amount of money. Based on the time of season there are printable discount coupons available.

The Georgia aquarium is located in Georgia, Atlanta 225 Baker St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313, and is counted as the largest aquarium in the world. It is open 365 days a year, and regular hours Sunday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

What discounts can I get?

CityPASS: If you’re visiting Atlanta with your family or friends then you can get a bulk discount on multiple attractions in Atlanta. CityPass can save you $78.11 for an adult and up to $63.71 for children. It’s worth the expense if you’re going to be seeing a lot of attractions on your stay. The CityPASS discount gets your into the following attractions:

  • Zoo Atlanta

  • Inside CNN Atlanta Studio Tour
  • High Museum of Art or Atlanta History Center
  • Georgia Aquarium
  • Fernbank Museum of Natural History or Atlanta Botanical Gardens

If your company is planning an outing or if you’re travelling in a large group then group tickets are what you need. You do need to be travelling in a group of more than 25 people. To get a discount for large groups call 404.581.4121 for your special discount.

Seasonal Offers: Make sure you check the official georgiaaquarium website for seasonal discounts. There are a number of different discounts and combined tickets that you can purchase and if you pre-pay for your parking you can save up to 10% on your ticket price.

Are you local to GA?: If you’re likely to visit the aquarium more than twice in a year then purchasing a yearly membership will save you money from your second visit. It also gives you other special discounts and priority entry over normal patrons. As well as fast entry you’ll receive a 10% discount at the cafe and gift shop.

Tourist guides / Corporate Sponsorship: keep an eye out for the “visit atlanta” flyers seen at bus stops and tourism information booths. These tend to contain discount coupons to all the major attractions in Atlanta. If you work for a major company ask if they have a discount deal in place as many companies do!

I’m a fish enthusiast with 2 young children, so visiting an aquarium seemed the obvious choice to fill time over a bank holiday weekend. All 80 million gallons inside the building have been broken down into 5 exhibits, each one exploring a different realm of aquatics. The first one we visited with the Cold Water Quest. This was a personal favourite of mine as it contained the beluga whales which I had studied for a while in college, and the kids really enjoyed watching the penguins. This exhibit also had a touch pool where the kids were able to get hands on with anemones and other creatures, which they loved. The Georgia Explorer was filled with these touch pools so they were very happy bunnies to be so close to more wildlife. Next was the Ocean Voyager section, which was a long tunnel where you can watch the fish. Apparently you can organise sleepovers inside it! Next we were able to see the dolphin show at AT&T Dolphin Tales before heading off to the River Scout section. The otters were a massive hit with me and the children. Lastly, we visited the tropical diver section. The leaflet recommended visiting this section last as it had a calmer atmosphere around it. The colours of the fish amongst the reefs were amazing. I’ll definitely be visiting Georgia Aquariums again!
